Official Description
MIMEDefang in MIME-tools 5.414 allows remote attackers to bypass virus scanning capabilities via an e-mail attachment with a virus that contains an empty boundary string in the Content-Type header.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2004-1098 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
