Official Description
Multiple integer overflows in libtiff 3.6.1 and earlier allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash or memory corruption) via TIFF images that lead to incorrect malloc calls.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2004-0886 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
