Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Blue Coat Systems (formerly CacheFlow) CacheOS on Client Accelerator 4.1.06, Security Gateway 2.1.02, and Server Accelerator 4.1.06 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a URL to a nonexistent hostname that includes the HTML, which is inserted into the resulting error page.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2002-1060 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
A proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit exists for CVE-2002-1060. While not yet confirmed in active campaigns, the availability of PoC code increases exploitation risk substantially.
