Official Description
Hotmail does not properly filter JavaScript code from a user's mailbox, which allows a remote attacker to execute the code by using hexadecimal codes to specify the javascript: protocol, e.g. jAvascript.
Technical Analysis
CVE-2000-0081 can be exploited remotely over the network without requiring physical or adjacent access, significantly expanding the attack surface for threat actors.
Exploitation requires some privileges, which limits the exposure to scenarios where an attacker has already gained initial access.
