Great Foods was compromised in a ransomware attack attributed to lamashtu in June 2026. The organization, operating in the Agriculture and Food Production sector in EG, was added to the group's data leak site as part of an extortion campaign.

lamashtu operates as a financially motivated ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) operation, exfiltrating sensitive data and threatening public disclosure to pressure victims into paying ransom demands.

Great Foods is a major Egyptian food manufacturing and distribution company. Established in 1972 and a proud member of the El Naggar Group, it employs over 3,700 people and exports over 150 products to more than 40 countries.
