kazu operates as a financially motivated ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) operation, exfiltrating sensitive data and threatening public disclosure to pressure victims into paying ransom demands.

It provides access to key services for students, teachers, and administrative staff, including online grade reports, certificate requests, school verification, and information about teaching careers through DSICAMM.
